Shelter Partnership is proud to announce another strong year for our warehouse program. The S. Mark Taper Foundation Shelter Resource Bank distributed $15 million worth of nonperishable goods to over 250 agencies providing direct service to the homeless of L.A. County.
This program has been essential to Los Angeles’ response to homelessness since 1989. During that time, the Resource Bank has distributed over a third of a billion (with a B) dollars’ worth of nonperishable goods – at no charge – that have reached hundreds of thousands of people struggling with poverty.
Our Resource Bank warehouse is the largest program of its kind in Los Angeles and one of the largest homeless resource facilities in the nation. The Resource Bank is a one-of-a-kind operation, managed by the tireless Jerry Ayala since the program’s launch 34 years ago.
